Our Unforgettable Accident

“We were in shock and couldn’t believe what had just happened. This is the kind of crazy accident that might happen to a client but not to us—not to our agency.”

Car crashing into the Henry Agency

Tuesday, November 21, 2017 started like any other ordinary weekday morning. Diann Jackson and I sat at our desks and started returning calls and servicing customers. I had just left a message for a commercial client and disconnected the call.

A moment later, I heard a screeching sound outside the office. I looked outside the window and saw a Honda Pilot sliding sideways down Lawrenceville Highway, coming fast and out of control. I watched in shock as the vehicle did a 360 and, to my horror, jumped the median. It was now coming straight for our office, which is set back from the road by a gentle hill. I was thinking to myself, I know the car is going to stop. But it didn’t. Diann and I watched in disbelief and screamed as the car crashed right into our office.

We were in shock and couldn’t believe what had just happened. This is the kind of crazy accident that might happen to a client but not to us—not to our agency. Incredibly, all parties were able to walk away from the accident with, at the worst, minor injuries. But the front of our standalone office space, which we had just moved into, was severely damaged.

Luckily, we’re in the insurance business. We were covered for both the physical and financial loss that we incurred. And that’s the service we bring to our clients. We want them to feel secure in knowing that when they make a report to us, we’ve quite literally been there. We know all about the shock and anxiety they’re feeling and how much is riding on a speedy repair and recovery process. Accidents will happen, almost always in the most this-can’t-be-real way.

“Our job at The Henry Agency is to make sure you’re prepared for the unexpected that inevitably touches almost all of us and can get back to normal as quickly as possible.”
